Line Jee Hartmann Rasmussen, PhD
Senior researcher in the Department of Clinical Research, Copenhagen University Hospital Hvidovre, Denmark and the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Duke University, USA Line J. H. Rasmussen, PhD, is a Danish senior researcher with the Dept. of Clinical Research, Copenhagen University Hospital Hvidovre, Denmark, and the Dept. of Psychology and Neuroscience, Duke University. She is an immunologist and epidemiologist by training and her research integrates theory and methods from immunology, clinical research, and population-based studies to identify the risk factors, measures, and outcomes of chronic inflammation and biological aging and their role in immunosenescence and disease development. Her work is centered on biomarkers of inflammation and aging, with focus on the emerging systemic chronic inflammation marker suPAR and its role in health and disease. Dr. Rasmussen received her MSc in Molecular Biomedicine and her PhD in Immunology and Infectious Diseases, both from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her graduate work concerned clinical prognostication using suPAR in various patient groups. She then completed her 3-year postdoctoral training at Dept. of Psychology and Neuroscience, Duke University, at the renowned Moffitt-Caspi lab under Dr. Terrie Moffitt and Dr. Avshalom Caspi. Here, she studied early life risk factors for systemic chronic inflammation as well as assessment of immunosenescence and aging with biomarkers and physical measures. Her work is supported by an international fellowship from the Danish Lundbeck Foundation (R288-2018-380). |
