Kris Verburgh, MD
Researcher at the Free University Brussels, Belgium, and Venture Partner of Longevity Vision Fund

Dr. Kris Verburgh is an expert on the future of medicine and biotechnology, with a focus on aging and longevity. He examines how new technologies will disrupt medicine, health(care), and our lifespan, which trends and paradigm shifts in the medical field are happening, and what impact the fourth industrial revolution will have on our bodies and brains. 

As a researcher at the Free University of Brussels, Dr. Verburgh studies aging and longevity, and how insights into aging can be used to improve health and lead to better prevention and treatment of various aging-related diseases and obesity. 

Dr. Verburgh created a new scientific field, nutrigerontology, that studies how nutrition influences aging and the risk of aging diseases such as heart disease and dementia. Besides lifestyle interventions, he researches how new biotechnologies can address aging and improve longevity, and could in the near future even partially reverse the aging process itself.

Dr. Verburgh is also a researcher at the Center Leo Apostel for Interdisciplinary Studies (CLEA) and a member of the Evolution, Complexity and Cognition (ECCO) group, which studies how complexity, creativity, and intelligence can arise in nature, our body and mind. He is a venture partner at the Longevity Vision Fund, a $100 million fund that invests into new technologies that focus on aging and longevity. He is a faculty member for the Future of Medicine and Longevity at Singularity University Benelux.

Dr. Verburgh wrote his first science book when he was 16 years old. At age 28, he had written four science books. His latest two books address health, longevity and new developments in biotechnology. 
 
Dr. Verburgh gives talks on new developments and paradigm shifts in medicine, neuroscience, healthcare, and longevity. He gave lectures for the European Parliament, Cambridge University, Singularity University, TEDx, international companies, and various academic, financial and governmental institutes and organizations.
