He has a proven track record for exceptional clinical and operational performance across Canada, having led change in multiple healthcare systems from the East coast to the West coast. Brendan started his career as a Naval Lieutenant, and after completing his MBA, went on to complete an MD and residency with a specialty in family and emergency medicine. Through his progression in clinical and administrative leadership, Brendan became the President & CEO of three of the largest Health Systems across Canada. Most recently, he served as the President & CEO of the Nova Scotia Health Authority providing integrated health services to approximately one million people and managing an annual budget of over $2.4 Billion. Formerly, he served as President & CEO of William Osler Health System providing health services to over 1.3 million people in Greater Toronto, Ontario, and as President & CEO of Vancouver Island Health Authority serving over 750,000 people in British Columbia. Brendan is an active leader and advocate for transformational change that addresses the profound inequities and inequalities of accessible personalized proactive care. He strongly believes that this can be achieved through a new Integrated Health Services model that brings together disconnected and fragmented information and healthcare services through private and public partnerships. |
